Tanzfabrik goes Podcast

dance & related topics on the road
With its first podcast projects, Tanzfabrik Berlin is on its way into audible realms. Anyone interested can experience dance and related works from the Tanzfabrik STAGE and SCHOOL on the go via many well-known podcast platforms.

Independently of fixed theater dates and spaces, those conversations can be enjoyed that Peter Stamer had with six different guests over dinner in his apartment and in the Tanzfabrik SCHOOL. In "Falscher Abgang," "boredom," "applause" and "humor," "failure",  "cough" and ’"ghosts" are brought to the table alongside Wiener schnitzel, parsley potatoes, and vegan breakfast - untimely topics of contemporary theater to which Lisa Lucassen (She She Pop), Eva Brunner (actress & director), Andreas Müller (dancer & performer), Christel Weiler (theater scholar),  Sandra Umathum (performance scientist, author & dramaturge) and Jule Flierl (dancer & choreographer) lend their voices.

With her four-part podcast series "Invitation to Walk", Katja Münker invites people who love to move to Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. Her auditory and performative body-perception experiments enable the appropriation of the city through somatics, choreography and artistic research.

A different perspective on the often unconsciously traversed urban space is also conveyed by the autumn dance walks that take place as part of the Tanzfabrik Berlin Schule's workshop program. Whether alone, together with friends or in special launch walks with artists, the aim here is always to look beyond one's own mental and physical horizons.

During the pandemic, one couldn't entertain anyone at home for too long. This spell was to be broken with FALSCHER ABGANG (Wrong Exit): since summer 2021, Peter Stamer has invited six theater artists to his apartment for dinner at irregular intervals to talk to them about “Untimely Topics of Contemporary Theatre”.

Lisa Lucassen, performer and member of the performance collective She She Pop, came to Freiligrathstraße for a vegan breakfast in episode 1 and dealt with the topic of BOREDOM in a very entertaining way. For episode 2, Austrian director and actress Eva Brunner joined for lunch to talk about APPLAUSE and why we need it so much over Wiener schnitzel and parsley potatoes. A week later, Andreas Müller, dancer and performer, not only told jokes at the coffee & cake table for the third episode, but also sang melan-comical songs and let us in about his thoughts on HUMOR. In the fourth episode, over salmon and green asparagus, theater scholar Christel Weiler devoted herself to the many different manifestations of FAILURE on stage. Almost two years later, performance scholar, author and dramaturge Sandra Umathum sat over tea and Black Forest cake to take a look at COUGHING in the theater in episode 5. To conclude the podcast, dancer and choreographer Jule Flierl climbed the five floors to the studio in Kreuzberg shortly before midnight and took a look at the visibility and invisibility of GHOSTS over wine and wraps.
