After studying at the Theatre Academy in Helsinki and obtaining an MA in Choreography from the HZT in Berlin, Finnish choreographer Milla Koistinen worked a.o. with artists like Kristian Smeds, Hiroaki Umeda, Peter Verhelst, Cie Heddy Maalem and Christine Gaigg. A recipient of the danceWEB scholarship from ImPulsTanz, Vienna, she tours her works internationally and teaches in various contexts, such as for Iceland Academy of the Arts, Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), HZT Berlin, Sasha Waltz & Guests and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. Her works have been presented at tanzhaus nrw, Szene Salzburg, Fabriktheater Zürich, Dampfzentrale Bern, Radialsystem, Tanz Im August and Uferstudios. In 2020-2024, Milla Koistinen's work is supported by apap – FEMINIST FUTURES – a project co-founded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union.
