A response to Chauvet Pont-d‘-Arc cave in Ardèche, France When we enter a cave and we look at prehistoric paintings, a wide and deep connection ignites. We truly feel that the past is looking at us in the same way in which we are staring into it. Our ancestors’ art, hidden in the mountain’s heart, seems to call for an answer from across a deep temporal abyss. This show is an attempt of a dialogue, an impossible response to the infinite wealth of what the first homo sapiens sapiens left inside Chauvet-Pont d’Arc Cave, home to rock paintings 36,000 years old.
