Taoufiq Izeddiou's journey into contemporary dance began with a "wild" training experience. In 1997, he made his professional stage debut under the guidance of Bernardo Montet, the director of the National Choreographic Center of Tours. In 1999, alongside his dancing career, Taoufiq Izeddiou ventured into choreography and gained recognition with his solo piece "Danse Nord" in 2000. The success of the group performance "Fina K'enti" in 2003 inspired him to establish Anania, Morocco's first contemporary dance company. In 2005, he founded the "On marche" festival in Marrakech, dedicated to contemporary dance. Driven by his passion for teaching, Taoufiq initiated the first contemporary dance training program in 2003, which produced talented dancers for the Anania company. In 2007, he obtained his State Diploma in contemporary dance from France. Since then, Taoufiq has been creating captivating works that navigate the intersection of tradition and modernity, unleashing the potential of the human body under the veil of darkness. His choreographies have been showcased in prestigious contemporary dance venues worldwide, including Danse Afrique Danse, Montpellier Danse, Charleroi Danse, Rencontres Chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-St-Denis, CND Paris, Tanzquartier Vienna, Transamériques in Canada, and more.
