In the frame of Open Spaces - Herbst
Us people are just poems. We're ninety percent metaphor. Ani DiFranco
Part dance piece, part choreographic happening, »Deep Sky Objects« is a collective poetic effort to expand the finitude of our bodies by flirting with astronomical distances and loopholes in time. A group of performers surrenders to the felt and imagined forces of an altered field in order to inspect and expose affections, resistances, isolations and solidarities. Matteo Marziano Graziano is fascinated by the overlaps of post-material sciences with paranormal phenomena. In »Deep Sky Objects«, he researches the channeling properties of the body – that is, the body’s capability to trace the subtle information of a space in real time and make it visible.

Matteo Marziano Graziano is a Berlin-based queer choreographer, whose work exists between the fields of contemporary performance, experimental music theatre and opera. His choreographic practice deals with questions of embodiment in relation to affects and consciousness. This practice leads to moving image making processes and explores the notion of subjectivity within spectatorship. Matteo has been danceWEB scholarship recipient in 2017 and since 2018 he is in-house choreographer at BTT Balletto Teatro di Torino. In 2018 he won the Young Direction Prize at Macerata Opera Festival. His choreographic work has been presented at a.o. PACT Zollverein, Schaubühne Berlin, KOW Gallery, Künstlerhaus Bethanien.
