Nicole Wendel works as an artist and performer at the interface of contemporary dance and drawing. Her approach is based on the understanding of the body as a unity that integrates social, spiritual, psychological and physical levels of perception. In the interaction between somatic exploration and the resulting communicative spaces, she investigates movement as drawing, sound as inter-resonance and abrasion as a permanent trace of the ephemeral event. Together with Jan Burkhardt, she founded (N)ON SITE BODIES, which develops participatory formats on Eco psychological and site-specific relationships. She teaches in various institutions and artistic contexts.
