Alvin Collantes (he/they) is a Filipino-Canadian queer dance artist, drag queen, choreographer, and Jungian life coach based in Berlin, Germany. He is currently a 2024 Soho House Fellowship member, hosted by Creative Futures Collective. Alvin is a member of the KDV Dance Ensemble under Kiani Del Valle, performing in major works such as
Cortex (2024) at Sonar Festival Barcelona,
La Tierra Quemada (2022),
Fuego en el campo (2024), and
Las Casas Invisibles (2020). His solo collaboration with musician Jun Suzuki,
FLUIDS, has been performed at Tanz Im August and the Asian Performing Arts Lab. As a drag performer, Alvin has appeared at renowned events like Horse Meat Disco, Pyramid Party, Lunchbox Candy, and Soho House. He was featured in Calvin Klein and Dazed Magazine's
Queer Lens series in the short film
OASIS by Adam Munnings, which explores the essence of queer underground nightlife and chosen families. Alvin's choreographic debut,
Bulkan, premiered in Alvin Tolentino's Company Erasga production,
What on Earth, at The Roundhouse Theatre in Vancouver. Additionally, he developed “Dose of Pleasure", a dance floor activation practice that promotes body liberation, community empowerment, and social sustainability through movement and dance. This work has been featured in Nike & Zalando, ARTE TV, Vice Germany, and DW News. Alvin has shared his practice at numerous festivals including WHOLE Festival, Soul Sauna, and Dancing on the Edge Vancouver, and was awarded a special grant by the Senate Department for Culture and Europe. Alvin continues to expand his work through collaborations with organizations like The House of Beautiful Business, NEXT Conference, and Bock Auf Morgen Festival. For more information, visit:
