Echoes in Motion

Workshop with Sara Lu
In the frame of WinterTanz 2024/25

Through a blend of structured exercises and freeform exploration, "Echoes in Motion" invites you to echo the core of your being, creating a dance that resonates with the timeless rhythms of life itself. The sessions will start with a guided exploration into the mechanics of the body, breath, bodily textures, rhythm, voice and effort. Afterward, I will propose various exercises incorporating imagery and form, investigating the relationship between internal feelings and movement to create a personal dance expression. We will explore the profound connections between body, imagery, thought, form, and spirit. Using the methodology of Butoh, we journey from the physical to the ethereal, employing the mechanisms of existence to uncover the hidden layers within. We work closely with the music that accompanies the class, as well as other external influences that affect our movement.

Accessibility Notes
The workshop will be held in spoken English, follow-up questions for clarification can also be asked in German. The workshop will sometimes include loud music with strong bass.
