«The River II» by Jasna L. Vinovrški is a work that has the format of a parkour. The audience is invited to three different spaces in which they can experience room installation, live performance and video projection. Each of these spaces zooms into the transitional period between life and death, by looking at personal space and objects after someone passing, as well as the ceremonial, and organisational aspect of a funeral: “What remains?” After the moment of passing, the private situation of grief and loss, suddenly becomes public and institutionalised; hospital staff and funeral homes are involved. For Jasna, this transformation places the idea of funerals in proximity to theatre spaces as a gathering of strangers, underlining the melancholic, humorous, absurdity and sometimes ungraspability of one’s passing.
«The River II» navigates these four components to address an issue that is both personal and social. In the process, the theatre becomes a place of transformation where human reason is stretched to its limits in the unifying co-presence of strangers.

Public in Private / Jasna L. Vinovrški
Jasna L. Vinovrški works as a performer, choreographer and curator. She grew up in Zagreb and has lived and worked abroad since the disintegration of Yugoslavia. After moving to Berlin in 2008, she founded Public in Private with her partner Clément Layes. Within this company context, the two artists continue to develop separate choreographic signatures to this day, but support each other in close artistic supervision. www.publicinprivate.com. In 2012 Jasna received her MA degree in choreography at the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin (HZT). She is particularly committed to creating alternative platforms for Berlin-based artists, especially from the dance and performance fields. From 2014 to 2017, Jasna co-hosted and organized a platform for experimental art at Atelierhaus am Flutgraben called 3AM. From 2019-2020, she was co-curator of the Montag Modus Klimata event series at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin and Atelierhaus Flutgraben. Darko Dragičević was born in Belgrade and lives in Berlin. He has shown his work internationally since 2003. In terms of an expanded practice of performance, choreography and film, he is involved in interdisciplinary projects and cross-media collaborations. His most recent works include performance projects «Silent Trio» with Christina Ciupke, «Exhaustion and Exhuberance», and «Lie & Theft as Practice» published as a book by Goethe-Institut Serbia. Dora Đurkesac (b. 1988, Croatia) works in contemporary dance, new media art, and design research. Her performative and methodological explorations form temporary collectives, social choreographies, and fictional ecosystems. In 2020, Đurkesac was art director of the digital publication "Everything is New" at De Appel, Amsterdam. She has shown her work in several cities, including Berlin, Amsterdam, New York, and Reykjavik. She currently lives and works in Berlin.
Koraljka Begović is a dance artist based in Zagreb. She collaborates with national and international choreographers, creating her own work and expanding collaborations with artists from different fields. She holds an MA in contemporary dance performance from the University of Limerick. Her works have been shown in Croatia and around Europe. The author's work "Reversing proximity" was selected for the Croatian Dance Network in 2019. In 2020, "Playing reality" was produced as part of the BeSpectactive program.
