Performance-Projekt with Jenny Ocampo

This work proposes to relate our inner and outer worlds physically and emotionally and to the different ways we can embody and intertwine them while we explore and improvise. We will work with layers between real and abstract, real and surreal and let those speak and transform into performative material. For that we are going to work concretely with the space and what surround us: architecture, materials, objects and others, allowing that perception to be influenced by imagination and fiction embodying it and composing with it. We gather a collective body filled out with different bodies of imagined possibilities as well as ordinary realities.

Fee: 180 € / red: 160 € / professional dancers: 140 € | Application for the project: mueller@tanzfabrik-berlin.de

Additionally you can join the contemporary class:
The method of the class is based on improvisation as a strategy to work with images, internal states, physicality and own language of movement. It is based as well on composing instantly with movement, taking awareness of each movement´s presence in space and time. The practice conceives the body as a multisensory body that makes its surrounding a part of it. The extent here expresses itself through movement, which depends on the way one draws space through perception and imagination. The participants have the opportunity to approach and practice the art of composing at the moment. A work whose technique and tools are not based on the aesthetic, but on the kinesthetic and that deepens the relationship of inner and outer worlds into dance and performance.

Mo & Wed 18:15-19:45 | Fee: For people joining the performance project: 110 € for the training period during the project / For everybody else: 10x card: 100 € / red.: 90 € / prof.: 75 €

Jenny Ocampo

Jenny Ocampo is a choreographer, dancer, dance teacher and mentor based in Berlin. She was born in Colombia and moved to Germany, where she received her dance degree from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She is currently completing Dance Science at the Freie Universität in Berlin (M.A.). She worked for several years as a solo dancer for the Dance Theatre Company at Theater Münster and was chosen by Pina Bausch to dance Le Sacre du Printemps and Tannhäuser. Since 2009 she has been working as a freelance dancer and, in addition to her work with Hidden Tracks, is realizing her own projects in collaboration with other artists* and theatres of the independent scene in Germany and South America. The works Mirage (2016), Damp Sheets (2017), The Canvas (2017) and S (2018), which premiered in Berlin, are among them. She understands choreography as a natural process in which everything takes its own and natural development, which is a kind of instability and unfolding of the extraordinary character of human actions and emotions. Her method, based on improvisation, links the perception of the inner and outer world to dance and performance. www.jennieocampo.com
