Profitraining with Victoria is an offering of structured movement and improvisation designed to ground and support dancers’ bodies while engaging imagination and sensation. Spiralling outwards from self-awareness and warming up towards awareness of others and space, the class grounds, centers, and warms then moves through the room using floor work, improvisation, inversions, turns and finally brings everything together in phrase-work. Seeking intersections between form and freedom, Victoria’s mixed background of contemporary and release techniques, yoga, modern, improvisation and sense of humor create a dynamic, ever-evolving class.

Victoria McConnell
Victoria McConnell performs, teaches, and creates body-based art which is grounded in relationality and curiosity. Born and raised in California, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University in 2008 and subsequently worked as a freelancer in the United States. Since 2015 she has lived in Berlin and works across Europe. As a dance artist, Victoria develops her own interdisciplinary projects, collaborates with FREYAS connective and has performed with Irina Pauls, Sommer Ulrickson, Tanz Company Gervasi, Sara Angius and for the Staatsoper Berlin, among others. McConnell also performs and dances in film and television productions. In addition to her artistic work, she has been teaching contemporary dance, ballet, improvisation and jazz since 2009. Animate Objects is an extension of her current work, MaterialBody.
