Ein Tanzstück
The way to someone’s heart is through the stomach. A dance piece and feast made by scholars from Lichtenberg.
What kind of feeling is love? How do you show love? How much love can your heart contain? Where does love stop and hate begin? Is love eternal? Does love end when someone dies? What does love mean?
To care means to share and give - without claiming anything back. To share a feast opens up a space where time, words and affection can be exchanged. Someone prepares a delicious dinner, another person brings nice music, a third one tells a story and others begin to dance.
This is exactly the kind of evening we want to share with you, dear audience. Be our guests and feel welcome to experience this gathering through dance, music, stories, food and beverages. For one school year the scholars of Sonnenuhr primary school and Johann-Gottfried-Herder secondary school in Lichtenberg danced and explored together, what humanity and love could mean. They rehearsed once a week, met for intensive weekend rehearsals and visited various dance performances presented in Berlin. The performance „dance kitchen“ developed and emerged during that time.
Planned, developed and accompanied by the artist-team Johanne Castillo Bro, Claudia Garbe (concept/choreography), Ingolf Watzlaw (stage/costume), Hebert Asprilla (music) | Dance: Students of Sonnenuhrgrundschule and Johann-Gottfried-Herder Gymnasiums in Lichtenberg | Supported by Tanzfabrik Berlin e. V., Uferstudios GmbH and the two involved schools | Sponsored by ChanceTanz, a project raised from Bundesverband Tanz in Schulen e. V. in the context of Kultur macht stark, Bündnisse für Bildung des BMBF.
