Title

Performance-Installation by Public in Private / Clement Layes

In a cross between the worlds of things and imagination, between object and human, Clément Layes sparks a struggle for meaning and situation. With an acrobatic prowess, he exposes the potential for narrative in these objects and from them extracts humorous tales. For Tanznacht Berlin, Layes and his collaborator, musician and drummer Steve Heather, present a reworking of “TITLE”, straddling the gap between durational performance, installation and concert.
A new cycle starts every 2 hours. Each cycle has 4 chapters of 30 minutes. Entrance every 30 minutes.

Public in Private / Clement Layes

Clément Layes has been living and working in Berlin as a choreographer and performer since 2008. Here, he founded the company Public in Private together with Jasna L. Vinovrski. His works, located at the intersection of choreography, visual arts and philosophy, take observations from everyday life and common objects as a starting point. Following “Allege” (2010), “to allege” (2011), “Der grüne Stuhl” (2012), “Things that surround us” (2012) and “dreamed apparatus” (2014), Layes completed his performance cycle dealing with the manmade world and things with the solo performance “TITLE”.
