Fiona teaches two joyful flow-based technique workshops, one suitable for beginners and one for more advanced movers. She emphasizes alignment, breath, suspension and release, musicality and performance. A structured warm-up leads into longer set sequences with dynamic variations, travelling through the space, individual movement vocabulary and improvisation.
Fiona Edwards is a dancer, choreographer, dance and yoga teacher and dance musician. She trained at The Laban Centre, London and went on to dance with various choreographers in the UK and Belgium before co - founding her own company ‘Edwards and Watton’. For 12 years the company focused on creating touring works, site - specific projects and a dance film for the BBC. She then became Senior lecturer in dance and choreography at Roehampton University, London. Fiona now teaches yoga and dance internationally and focuses on devising movement projects for people of all ages. As a musician for contemporary dance she continues to research the close connection between music and dance and between class musicians and teachers. www.fionaedwards.com
