Unerhört

Recherche-Präsentation by Kareth Schaffer
In the frame of Open Spaces #3-2015

Don’t believe everything you hear.

Kareth Schaffer explores foley as a choreographic tool and performative practice. “Unerhört” dives into the world of cinematic post-production, where the sounds of movement, steps, clothing, and props are created in the sound studio and synchronized to the moving image. An uncanny realm between film, sound, and dance – between the aural and the visual – points away from and next to the performers’ bodies. “Open Spaces” gives insight into a longer research process before a premiere in summer 2016.

Concept: Kareth Schaffer | Performance, collaboration: Niels Bovri, Manon Parent, Kareth Schaffer | With thanks to Boglárka Börcsök, Ana Laura Lozza, Lee Meir, Claudia Tomasi, Cathy Walsh | A research presentation by Kareth Schaffer with friendly support of Tanzfabrik Berlin, Uferstudios Berlin GmbH, NRW Kultursekretariat, tanzhaus NRW and Hans Peter Zimmer Foundation Düsseldorf.
