In ‘Autobiography of Contradictions’, two female performers are confronted with a delicate situation. They give their all. That is what saves them. They are accomplices in crime and sorrow, in love and rage.
‘Autobiography of Contradictions’ explores mourning; our relationship with the dead and absence. How can this ritual-bound process become a fertile ground for song, dance and words about love, pain and renewal?
The performance is held by a deep sense of belonging, trust and care. It speaks of friendship as a site for transformation, our ability to tell stories and to resurrect, through play, absent and inspiring figures - as a way of finding our way through life.
‘Autobiography of Contradictions’ premiered in France in autumn 2024. It is inspired by the entire body of work of Goliarda Sapienza, important Sicilian anarchist author of the 20th century, who was only posthumously recognized and is still quite unknown in Germany. For their showing at Tanzfabrik BÜHNE Manon Parent and Alma Palacios are planning a punk version of the performance.

Manon Parent
Manon Parent (she/her) is a classically trained violinist, composer, dancer and choreographer. Originally from Paris, she is based in Berlin since 2013. Multidisciplinary artist and improviser, Manon works and tours internationally both as a performer and as a maker.
Alma Palacios
Alma Palacios (she/her) is an actress, dancer and singer. She regularily works with prisoners, physically and mentally disabled people and elderly people. She currently collaborates with Tiago Rodrigues, Clara Bauer and David Geselson. She is a singer in the french band “Caravage”.
