Time to Meet! Following her R.E.D. residency at Tanzfabrik BÜHNE, Josephine Findeisen invites you to a Hang Out at Tanzfabrik Berlin BÜHNE x Grüntaler 9.
In her research, Josephine Findeisen deals with public luxury - understood as unconditional basic provision and participation. ‘Luxury for All’, the provisional title of her project, was originally a concept of the Paris Commune. It emphasised the idea that luxury, which was reserved for a few, should be accessible to all members of society, aiming for a radical redistribution of resources and power.
At Time to Meet, Josephine Fineisen will provide insights into her working process, show short movement sketches and serve the audience an alcohol-free champagne pyramid. Afterwards, excerpts from the book ”Öffentlicher Luxus” by communia and the Bundjugend will be read together. In between, there will be space for reading breaks to organise thoughts, clarify questions of understanding and exchange experiences.

Participation is free of charge. No previous knowledge is required. The evening will be held in German spoken language. Various seating options are available (folding chairs, beanbags and cushions).
Josephine Findeisen
Josephine Findeisen (she/her), born in Dresden in 1990, is a dancer and cultural worker. She studied Dance, Context and Choreography at Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz in Berlin. In her practice, she examines socio-economic realities and researches the entanglements of class, gender and the body. Since 2016, she has created various physical research projects on class issues, including «A Work that doesn‘t Work» or «We might as well be on Crystal», «SCHWEIßARBEIT», «Working Class Dance Group» and «AUTOSCOOTER». Josephine initiated the open meeting "Arbeiter:innentöchter Vereinigt Euch!" at historical workplaces and monuments in Berlin.
