Performance-Projekt

What is the space between the individual and the group? How does observation affect creation? How does the soloist affect the group? How does the group influence the individual? How can the dynamic between the audience and performer be challenged, questioned, and contested? Accessing tools from Ensemble Thinking, the Viewpoints, Deborah Hay, and Barbara Dilley, this performance project will investigate performance as a shifting body of awarenesses. Starting in simplicity, we will consciously progress into the unknown by layering multiple knowns. The clearer we are with the What, When, and Where of our actions, the freer we can be with the Why.
Application for the project: mueller@tanzfabrik-berlin.de Fee: 170 € / red: 150 € / professional dancers: 130 €
Open training "Asymmetric Autonomies - a technical approach to Contact Improvisation"
Starting with exercises that build anatomical awareness, we will explore specificity to increase the potential of the solo body. Accessing weight, concepts such as momentum, duration, repetition, speed, and loft will be investigated. Choreographic riffs will be used as points of departure to investigate listening and multiple forms of flow – mechanical, cognitive, and empathic.
