From the Inside Out

Workshop with Jeremy Nelson
In the frame of Summer/ing at Tanzfabrik

The workshop explores the relationship of the body thinking, the body processing, the body making, and the body performing. Does curiosity and examination of our own process produce knowledge ? Using simple exercises; hands on work leading to improvisation; and other individual and group improvisational scores, we approach our bodies as places of inquiry where we can examine our movement patterns and interests and open ourselves to the possibility of change. This physical research is influenced by my over 40 years of study in somatic practices, primarily Klein Technique™, the Feldenkrais Method®, but also including techniques such as Alexander Technique® and Bodymind Centering®

Accessibility Note
The workshop will be held in spoken English. It will involve partner work with touching, but this will be optional, and agreement will be sought for hands-on corrections. The workshop will also involve some simple directed exercises leading into improvisation. The focus of the work will be on examining our movement patterns and interests and opening ourselves up to the possibility of change. If needed, a free workshop place for an accompanying assistant will be facilitated for participants with disabilities. Information about our location & studios in Kreuzberg, which unfortunately are not wheelchair accessible, can be found here. For questions or more information, please contact Zoé Duflot at workshop@tanzfabrik-berlin.de
