In the frame of Fold – Far, Far Away
In the new production, «ElseWhere Rhapsody» , performance-maker Jen Rosenblit untangles the inexhaustible forces of desire in an abysmal world of images. Historical motifs of erotic art meet queer horizons as a community-building practice, thereby revealing uncanny spaces between the private and the public. For this eclectic collage of very different genres and motifs, Jen Rosenblit has an international ensemble of three musicians performing together with Rosenblit amidst an expressive stage set and a multi-layered composed soundtrack.
After Rosenblit's last work «Everybody’s Fantasy» (2020) was a multi-layered deconstruction of erotic fantasy, «ElseWhere Rhapsody» applies a flexible experimentation that aims to shed light on the poetic and political aspects of desire.

The performance lasts 75 minutes and takes place in Studio 14. It will be held in English.
There is no seating. Pre-boarding (early admission) and a limited number of beanbags are available for people with mobility impairments. Both can be reserved at ticket@tanzfabrik-berlin.de. Late admission is not possible.
Studio 14 is almost at ground level. There is no raised area or similar in the studio itself. There is a slight slope of 1.0% from the outside to the entrance of the studio. Studio 14 has two wheelchair spaces. The barriere-free toilet is located in the opposite Foyer of Studio 3, 4 and 5. It is necessary to walk about 6 meters outside to reach it.

Jen Rosenblit
Jen Rosenblit (no pronouns) lives in Berlin. Rosenblit´s performances, centred around architecture, texts, bodies and ideas, often deal with the problems associated with community building. Rosenblit's works tend towards the uncanny, pursuing an inherent logic of things, a poetry of utility and showing ways of being together in the midst of impossible spaces without sentimentality. Rosenblit has worked with artists such as Simone Aughterlony, Miguel Gutierrez, A.K. Burns and Philipp Gehmacher. In 2018 Rosenblit received the Guggenheim Fellowship, was Artist in Residence at Atelier Mondial in Basel and is currently Artist in Residence at La Becque in Vevey, Switzerland.

Gærald Kurdian (FR/BE) has developed a performative and musical research cycle on alternative forms of sexuality and queer micropolitics, in the context of which they initiate experimental queer healing choir projects (HOT BODIES - CHOIR), intersectional parties (A QUEER BALL FOR HOT BODIES OF THE FUTURE ) and live music acts (TAREK X / HOT BODIES - STAND UP ). They are currently one of the artistic researchers of the ESACM research co-operative. They have collaborated with artists such as Mette Ingvartsen, Philipp Gehmacher, Eszter Salamon and Simone Aughterlony.
Li Tavor (1983) is a musician, composer, performer, sound- and visual artist and architect based in Zurich. Their practice often negotiates the multiple ways of possible relations within a built environment. In the past years Tavor was working as a research assistant at the department of architecture of ETH Zurich, was a guest professor at RMIT Melbourne and a lecturer for the BA in Fine Arts at ZHdK Zurich. Together with Alessandro Bosshard, Matthew van der Ploeg and Ani Vihervaara, they were selected by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia to curate the Swiss Pavilion at the 16th International Architecture Biennial in Venice, where their exhibition Svizzera 240: House Tour was awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Participation.
Colin Self (DE/US) is an artist, composer and choreographer based in New York and Berlin. Self creates music and performances that break down binaries and play with the boundaries of perception. Self works with a wide range of communities, using voices, bodies and computers as tools to interact with biological and technological software. Self is a lecturer at NYU's Clive Davis Institute in Berlin and has presented their work at the Dutch National Opera, HAU Berlin, Neues Museum, The Kitchen NYC and Issue Project Room, among others, as well as many international festivals and venues.
