We will challenge our physicality with playfulness by working with rhythm, somatic practices, body and space awareness, performativity, pleasure, and joy.
This aim of this practice is to invite negotiations with our weight, to release tensions, strengthen the core, and to encourage liveliness. It understands the pelvis as the moving motor of our bodies, and it opposes to straight lines and stiff verticality to transform them into curves, animalistic, and rhythmical bodies.
Accessibility NoteThe workshop will be held in spoken English, follow-up questions for clarification can also be asked in German or Spanish. Oral explanations will be an important part of the workshop. Partner work with touching will be an optional, small part of the workshop. Consensus will be sought for hands-on corrections. Pop and loud music will be used. Coordination and combination exercises and movement phrases to remember will be part of the workshop. The focus of the work will be on the anatomically and energetic available execution of movements and on working healthily and efficiently, to build up stamina and resistance. If needed, a free workshop place for an accompanying assistant will be provided for participants with disabilities.
