Purple Spheres

Performance · Deutschlandpremiere by Mirjam Sögner
In the frame of Fold – Expansions of Perception

↪ Trailer(Youtube)

«Purple Spheres» is about objects that surround us every day. They determine our being, doing and thinking, and yet we often only notice them when they have disappeared, are damaged or re-appear in a completely different form. Luan de Lima and Mirjam Sögner lead the public on different tracks with their search for things, in and on their bodies, as traces on other objects, as sounds, words, gestures.

In «Purple Spheres», the absence of things opens up other layers of their existence: It reveals the interconnectedness of how we relate to them, and their enigmatic strangeness. It is a journey into what we consider the background – to what is difficult to access in close proximity. We are taking this journey at a time when humanity has become a geological force. And the material world is moving more and more to the center of events.
