The Versatile Body
This Class integrates elements from a variety of different and complimentary movement techniques in order to awaken the widest range of a dancer´s movement abilities for free and joyful dancing. Elements from floorwork, Kungfu and gymnastics (acrobatics) are used in the class to awaken the use of body weight, momentum, strength and stamina. The classes include coordination games that challenge the body and mind; Guided improvisations, that aim at opening channels to experience physical engagement through senses and states of mind; and vice versa. In the
second part of the class other components like sharpness, efficiency, precision, isolation and musicality are a further focus for more detailed body awareness. Every class ends by learning a movement phrase and/or structured improvisation that incorporates all the elements that have been worked on; accompanied by some nice music, placing emphasis on the importance of playfulness and joy of performing in our daily training for individual creativity. It is recommended to come the whole week in order to get the fullest out of it.

Zoe Gyssler
Zoe Gyssler is a freelance dancer, performer, choreographer, teacher based in Berlin. As a gymnast she competed at national level for 14 years and then studied contemporary dance in Barcelona and at the Music and Dance Academy in Jerusalem. In 2015 she received her bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology and sports science from the University of Basel. As a freelance dancer she has worked internationally with choreographers such as Wim Vandekeybus, Johannes Wieland, Maxine Doyle, Helder Seabra, Tom Weinberger, Luke Murphy, Edan Gorlicki and others. As a choreographer, she cofounded the women's collective Bufo Makmal in Basel in 2013, which toured Switzerland with ALL.ES. Since 2016 she continued making her own dance theater productions, which have been shown at the Staatstheater Kassel, LOT-Theater Braunschweig, Theater aan de Rijn Arnheim and Le Nouveau Monde Fribourg, among others. Her last production "Firestarter" was shown in Monopol, Berlin and at
Festival Hasard4 in Fribourg. Since 2021 she ist doing Movement Direction and Choreography for theatre plays and has been a guest teacher and choreographer at various dance training centers in whole Europe since 2010.
