Stripped of imperialist, monarchical, or colonial associations, the crown is considered a symbol of power and dignity in prehistoric lore.
This crown-making workshop aims to reconcile African descendant people with each other. In an act of collective creation, traditional African techniques that have been almost completely erased by colonialism and forced migration will be taken up for this purpose. The acquisition and development of the forgotten or unlearned skills serves both relic-making and self-empowerment, and has a positive effect on mental health.
"Power Tower Pishiboro Hair-Crown Making" is an international event held in Berlin, Nuremberg as well as in various countries on the African continent, the United States and beyond.
