In the frame of Criss-Crossing Encounters 2021 und Workshop programme of Tanzfabrik Schule
After we unfortunately had to cancel the event in summer due to bad weather, we are now very happy to have found a weatherproof but open space with the CABUWAZI tent on Tempelhofer Feld. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Together with 12 other interdisciplinary artists, artist ...thabo thindi will create a space where we tell our stories, share ideas, have heated political discussions, dance to live music, and relax as we reminisce about the past and plan for the future. An interplay of partly choreographed, partly improvised performances (dance + music + theater) interwoven with narratives reflecting the everyday realities of Black people's lives; presented in a casually engaging, open-ended scenario. The audience becomes part of and creator of the Shebeen through physical and/or verbal engagement. This is an event for all who feel compelled to engage and change perspectives to make this world a better place for all who live in it, regardless of color, gender, sexual orientation, class, …

...thabo thindi is a South African born who intertwines performance, filmmaking, photography and storytelling to explore the potential and role of artistic practice as a catalyst to ignite dialogue and social change. Issues such as discrimination of varies kinds including race, sexual orientation, gender, displacement, refugees, identity, inter-culture etc form the central bases of his theme of work.

Corona regulations for events at the CABUWAZI tent on Tempelhofer Feld are the 3-G rules (vaccinated, tested or recovered, mandatory masks and contact tracking via LucaApp. Due to the actual high rate of covid infections we decided as highest possible protection of the artists and of us all that each one has to bring a negativ test. Selftests at the venue are possible. Please bring your own test-kit. Thank you.
