A Movement Research Workshop with Kirstie Simson & Darrell Jones, who share a committed practice of dance improvisation, through their experiences of (e)feminized ritual performance, vogue aesthetics, contact improvisation, aikido and the efficacy of communication and collaboration in facing a life changing health diagnosis. Together we will investigate accessing our bodies as archives, and develop resilient practices that question the particularity of tactics, philosophy & interpretation appropriate to each moment. The process will involve conducted interviews and layered scoring of material/concepts including:
Dangers / Sublimity inherent in the life experience. Resistance / Release. Counter rituals / Battle Acceptance / Vulnerability. Cultural / Biological forces. Spiral as a way to go in and out of the gravity of things. Realness / Serious Play. What is your body archive? Discerning the stories that are embedded in us and in the space. Listening to what is emerging. Allowing / Doing Revelation. The Space In between. The Effect of Magic. Not being able to Own the Unknown . Counter rituals in relationship to our particular life training so we can move forwards from here. Performance being a modality to further the questioning. What does security look like in 2020, along this journey we are all in together?
Please note: The workshop takes place online and has a participant limit of 15 persons.08.01.2021 19:00 (GMT+1)
