“I am not trying to create a fixed doctrine. I consider myself just one more channel. Nothing else. My desire is to be a witness, to share from my experience, to give freely, so that I can give air to the wings of those who have decided to fly with me. To observe, to move, to be patient, attentive, and direct my focus spontaneously and directly.” Pau Aran
The work of the dancer and teacher Pau Aran is very much inspired by the Jooss-Leeder method and by his experiences of working with Pina Bausch. At the beginning of the workshop the focus is on developing movement from its various qualities, directions and all it implies: space, breathing, oppositions and working on small details that make all the difference. Together we will work on sequences that corporeally and technically contain the information previously studied, using principles of repetition and gestural intention. We will then dive into a creative process that opens up space for contact with oneself, without presumption or judgement. A space for sensitivity and expression, because each body has its own unique language. In this sense, we will work playfully and with pleasure, with compositional exercises, improvisations and body narratives. The participants will connect with a personal, authentic expression and thus develop a resilient, open and autonomous way of thinking with the help of clear directions and instructions.
Please note: Due to the current situation the workshop will take place online!
